2021 - the year to get it done!

2021 a fresh start after the horror year that 2020 was, still so much uncertainty in the world but here in Western Australia things are pretty ok.  Still very concerned about what the outbreaks/2nd and 3rd waves over east may have on us as our borders were open for a while.   However, this year is my year to GET IT DONE.

So, more family time, more focus on my health and life work balance and definitley time to get more scrapbooking done.    So let's get this year on the road.

Today is my sisters birthday!

Love her to bits - she is the eldest in our family, and sometimes drives us crazy as she is ALWAYS the big sister, but she has always been there for me and mine.  She is Godmother to our youngest daughter, and has been a wonderful Aunt and Sister-in-law.  I miss not being closer to her on days like today, I hope she has had a great day,  I love you 'niece!

Check out my Santa timer

Down there on the right hand side of the page - how cool is that 64 days to go !!!!    YAYYYY.

the one with me feeling - bleh

I am on day three of a nasty little bug and apart from being able to do some reading of a couple of books and a lot of time on pinterest not much more has been achieved.  Seems unfair to have three days not at work and not be able to spend them in my studio.

I have been helping my sister do some work on our family tree and that got me inspired to get some old photos and documents scrapbooked so before this little bug came for a visit I managed to get some page kits together for my scrappy day at the end of November.  I have decided that making my own kits up before I go for the day helps me stop a lot of paper shuffling.

The great scraproom tidy up is just about finished  - just a few things to decide on where they are going and then it will be good to get back in there and create.    I will be doing a craft market at the end of November (day before my crop day - I know I know WHAT was I thinking?)  so want to get some things done for that over the next 30 days.

So back to bed and hopefully tomorrow I will wake up feeling a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

Love this tool - and love this little video

When I was cleaning up my scraproom and looking at all the tools that are in there - some I use a lot others only now and then, I moved my cropadile to my tool bag as I tend to use it quite a lot.  Recently on Pinterest I discovered a link to this great little video on it, so sharing it for you peeps.   I absolutley LURVE that it will punch through Chipboard like a hot knife through butter - so very handy.

September - how did you get here so quick?

I am not sure where time goes lately  but it seems to slip through my gate quickly and my TO DO list never seems to shorten; for every item I cross off I add another 2 or 3.  The project for the past few weeks has been a MASSIVE cleanout of my scrapbook room \ studio\ design space or whatever you want to call it.  Once it is done (and I am doing a total overhaul) I know that once again it will be my happy space.  It has been wonderful to rediscover my stash, and also find come pages completed and not yet in an album.  As our youngest child turned 30 a week or so back, it has been fab discovering old photos of him and his sisters - both scrapped and not, and again I ask where does time go?

I am sharing some older pages scrapbooked that I found in my clean up - they are early styled but a but fun, and it serves as reminder that no matter if the style of scrapping has changed over the years, and that now there seems to be much more product used on a layout, the essence remains the same. Memories documented to be enjoyed, feelings recorded to be revisited and love shared.

Another year bites the dust

I had an amazing time celebrating my birthday with friends and family, and was especially blessed to have the company of Becky Fleck (PageMaps) with me.  I spent some time with the family, and my wee Princes made me beautiful cards, as only a 2 & 5 yr olds can, and then spent a day scrapbooking in the company of women whose friendship I value and we cooked an amazing roast leg of lamb for dinner on the Saturday evening, nom nom nom! and then to finish off did a fun Masterclass at Coward & Black in the Swan Valley - Chocolate and Wine, we tasted 4 choc liquers and 6 wines and got to take a bottle of chocolate liquer home.  OMG the slated caramel and the lemon ruffle were to die for - simply scrummy. Was lovely to catch up with other firends and spend a little time together on winters afternoon in Perth. The weekend was also filled with lovely news from our son, but more on that next post.    So til then, be happy.
